Mouthing off

Well, it has happened! Mubarak is gone! He resigned & turned the power over to the military. 250,000 Egyptians celebrating in Tahrir (translated from Egyptian means Liberation) Square. El Baradei said it was the happiest day of his life. They made history. I was thinking that if we did that in D.C. 10 yrs ago, it would be Cheney taking over and that would be a lose-lose situation! What will happen now, no one knows but I will be watching. It was amazing! They were there all nite and today is Friday, which is a religious day for Muslims. They go to pray at noon, I believe, and then back to Liberation Square. They had tents set up and people serving food, water, juice, etc. It was something to see. When I stopped watching it was about 5 a.m. in Cairo and what they did, some of them, was stay for a couple of days, go home, rest, come back. They say that it is now for the young people. They were mostly young. Not too many old people could demonstrate that long. As I said, it was amazing!!!! They say it is highly unlikely that the Muslim Brotherhood will take over, but they most likely will have a say in some matters. Probably the lst thing will be the 30 yr. peace treaty w/Israel. Even the Egyptians don't like that. They do not want war w/Israel but they would like a "cooler peace" as, let's face it, they really do not like Jews. It can be bad for Israel and it can be bad for us. We just have to wait and see.
