Well, I started something and scrolled down to see if I had written it before and ended up losing what I just typed. So much is happening in this world that it is hard to keep up. Last year the "Tea Partiers" were screaming "I want my country back" - well, now I am screaming "I want my country back". I don't remember this country being so screwed up and so partisan or maybe I just never paid attention before. No, it is bad now! Well, we will come back to this. Now, on to Egypt!
I don't know what is happening right now - I believe Mubarak will definitely be vacating his gorgeous palace today or tonite. It started out peaceful but yesterday and the day before was very bad. Yesterday they stopped all journalists from filming anything, it was like something was going to happen and they didn't want any pictures taken. Some journalists as of last nite were missing. They were calling in by phone but no pictures. Katie Couris and Christiane Amanpour's cars were attacked. All the "big guns" from the news were there. Heard from a photojournalist, don't know what country he was from, spoke English w/o accent, and he could have lost his life. He was rescued by some anti-Mubarak Egyptians who literally saved his life. It was the pro-Mubarak people that wouldn't let the journalists film. Now, the ones that were doing the real damage were goons hired by Mubarak. He is a real piece of work. His palace, where they were going to gather today, is not in Cairo, but in the suburbs and they have to go past shopping areas and lovely suburban areas, gated homes w/palm trees & swimming pools. Now - if I repeat myself from other days, please forgive me. I cannot scroll down as I already did that and lost the whole post. Someone called from TX, I believe, called NBC and said that his mother lives in Cairo (she is an American but probably also an Egyptian) , she is 76 (I think) and her building is being attacked, her windows were broken, and she has to get out. NBC sent over some of their news people and they got the woman out. Unbelievable!!!!! There are no more planes leaving Cairo for the USA as of today. The last ones left yesterday and they were not free rides! It cost them $1700 each. There was a couple from Illinois who were in Cairo on vacation and on the way to Cypress and had to leave earlier than planned as it cost they $3400 for the 2 of them. The Mubarak goons came in on horses and camels and were wieldling bats or something like bats and hitting people and it was really bad. The last I heard, Mubarak was going to leave and leave his new VP in charge, Suleiman. Now, I heard - don't quote me - but I am pretty sure it was Suleiman they were talking about - has quite an impressive background. He had been w/the CIA and the CIA is not always on the up and up, as we know. They had this prisoner ((I don't remember his name, but they showed him on TV) this was right after 9/11 and they locked him in a case it said, A CASE! For 80 hrs, beat him constantly, so he made up something (I knew I left something out - Suleiman was involved w/this) just to get them to stop beating him. He said that Saddam Hussein was involved w/Al Queda. This report made its way to Colin Powell, the then Secy of State to George, and Colin Powell reported it to the UN and then we attacked Iraq. That is one of the reasons. In Rumsfeld's new book (in which he does lie) he states that right after 9/11 George said "we have to attack Iraq. Of course, that is only one of the stories of why we went into Iraq. Very good movie "The Green Zone" w/Matt Damon, about looking for WMD's in Iraq. Especially the part where they tell us that they knew there were no WMD's in Iraq! Well, that's another story. Back to Egypt. Yesterday, Glen Beck (what an animal!) said that the whole world will be controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood. He had a map and showed each country. It was almost comical - if he wasn't such a sick person, it woud have been comical. His twin, Rush Limbaugh, was laughing about the journalists running into so much trouble and being attacked until he heard that one of the Fox people was beaten and is in hospital in Cairo, then he didn't laugh so much. I do not think the Muslim Brotherhood will come into Egypt - the people basically are decent - in fact, there is (under normal times) very little crime in Egypt - doors are left open, very peaceful. They just want democracy, they want jobs (40% unemployment) and they want to live and be able to feed their families. Saw something interesting but can't really explain it - too involved for me but Wall St actually controls the price of food and the food in the Middle East (food like wheat, etc.) has gone up quite a bit and that is because of Wall St. Sounds crazy but you can believe it! I was in Twitter this a.m.and no one is talking about Cairo. I don't know why. I go into MSNBC on Twitter, people you see on TV go in their (except me, of course) It is - right now - it is 9 p.m. in Cairo so something must have happened. Will try to keep up.
Have you ever heard of the Koch brothers? They are billionaires, the 2nd largest energy & oil co. in the USA (or maybe the world) They are the biggest polluters in the country and they, of course, are against climate control, or anything that would clean up the air. They give millions and millions (an unbelievable amount) to the Reps. I just found out that their father is the founder of the John Birch Society. Need I say more? Lots more to talk about but will try to come back later and will see what is happening in the Middle East!
Oh, the pressure!!!!!!!!!
