Well, it's been 9 days, don't know if I have any followers anymore. Actually, for some reason, the followers have all been eliminated from the screen. I don't know if I ever mentioned before but I have always had a very hard time signing in. Sometimes it took me about 5 or 6 min. and it was very frustrating. Sometimes I could get right in but others, very hard. Took me all this time to figure how to get in easily!
Anyhow, don't know where I left off. If I want to scroll down and look at the last blog I will lose this and I don't want to lose this.
It was 9 days ago. And Trump was already in the picture. Well, he was on every show imaginable except for, of course, MSNBC. He refused, evidently, to go there as they would make mincemeat of him. In fact, Lawrence O'Donnell, who said he knows that Trump watches his show every nite, gave it to him every single night, beautifully! Well, last Friday, I guess it was Fri., Obama revealed his birth certificate, and, of course, Trump took credit for making him do that. It really wasn't Trump. Obama felt it was all nonsense, which it was, but he showed it. Then, on Sat. was the White House Correspondence Dinner and after bashing Obama for at least 3 weeks, Trump was there and of course, Obama was there at the head table, after all, it is his White House! He got up and said Mahala, greeting everyone in Hawaiian! And, he laid into Trump, in his usual cool manner. Obama is good! You could see that he got a small smile out of Trump. But when Seth Meyers from S.N.L. got up to do his monolog it was almost all about Trump and he gave it to him BUT GOOD!!! And the camera kept going on to Trump and he was MAD! They said later that they expected him to get up and leave and I sure did, but I guess he didn't.
The next day Trump said that Seth Meyers stuttered! Funny!
Seth Meyers does not stutter! Believe me, I have been watching him for years. Now, that was Sat. On Sunday evening Obama announced that Osama Bin Laden was DEAD!!!! What a coup! What a weekend!
Now, Obama is a hero! You think? Well, not w/Republicans. They buried OBL at sea so as not to create a shrine to him and did honor the tradition of Muslims to bury them right away. They did I believe 10 tests of DNA, to prove it was him, everything was done by the book. Well, Palin is saying it is disrespectful to 9/11 to bury him in the sea! Please don't ask me why. She has to say something, she is a has-been, has to keep her screechy mouth going. Oh, BTW, her daughter, Bristol, was at the Correspondence dinner and please don't ask me why! She was a guest of People Magazine.
Also, BTW, someone mentioned on Twitter that she said her mother is not allowed in her home in AZ. Well, who knows!
Anyhow, back to OBL. Obama does not want to publish the photos and I agree w/him but I also agree w/other who think the photos should be published. They are very gory, he was shot in the head. Now, on Jon Stewart's show last nite he said he can understand not wanting to show gory on TV, then he showed the shows, CSI, CRIMINAL MINDS, BONES, etc. Speak about gory on TV! But that isn't the only reason. He feels that if they show the pics OBL's followers will retaliate and go after us, and they will make a martyr of him. On the other hand, they could have tapes that he made and didn't release and they could release them and say they were made just now and that he isn't dead. On Fox yesterday, Andrew Napolitano, either a Judge or former judge, said that Obama made it all up to help his "lousy presidency". Lousy presidency? The Republicans are mad as hell! They have been showing films of Bush when he was prez saying "I don't know where he is and I really don't care. I am not interested in him, etc. etc. etc." In fact, they never mentioned this, but I remember that for about a year & 1/2 Bush never mentioned the name Osama Bin Laden. It was like he never existed! Had we not left Afghanistan and taken so many military to Iraq to a war that should never have been, maybe we could have gotten OBL sooner and maybe all our military that was killed in Iraq wouldn't have been killed! To me, there blood is on the hands of Cheney & Bush! Now, with this killing comes all kinds of flack. Before I go into that, I must say that the CIA special forces that went in to that compound, are something very special. The reason they didn't bomb the place is because there were children & women there, actually I think they said 23 children and 9 women, who were all saved. Also, if they bombed it they wouldn't know for sure that he was in there. Now get this, he was living in a million dollar home (in Pakistan evidently the home prices are not the same as in Encino!!!!) in a residential area, right next to a military academy. All fenced in, barbed wire on top of the fence. They didn't take their garbage out like the other houses did, they burned their garbage, had no phone service. He evidently had been there all the time we thought (per the Bush Adm.) he was living in a cave. He was found w/a lot of money on him and 2 phones #s that were tucked into his clothes. It seemed like he was planning to leave. Now, the Pakistanis who we give l8 billion to each year, say they knew nothing about this. Right, and I have some land to see you west of Malibu! (I read that in a book!) So, not there is a new war going on, right here, show the pictures, don't show the pictures. The Republicans are upset because they know they have diddly on their list for prez in 2012, really crap! And they know that this helped Obama greatly!
Now, last nite on the news they announced that the GOP has decided that they will not change Medicare and it is "off the table" . I guess that during Easter week when they were all home and having Town Hall meetings and the people were all screaming at their reps, like Paul Ryan and his ilk, "don't touch my Medicare!" and lying to these people who wouldn't take any of it. It was great to watch! Better than a movie! However, before the program ended, they came up w/a special report that Eric Cantor, the Rep. whip of the House, said that they will not take it off the table but will discuss it or some other crap like that. Well, we shall see. Now I am really getting tired of typing and have to go and check my Twitter. As of yesterday I had 739 followers! I can't believe it and I really love it. You get to know some of the people and have political discussion back and forth and I am really learning things!

I have been trying for about 15 min. trying to get into this and you'd think it was Fort Knox!!!! And when I opened it originally all my few followers were gone! I know I haven't been here for about 4 or 5 days, but gee whiz! Give me a break! I am "tied up" w/Twitter! As I have said, it is running my life! I am up - as of this minute - to 632 followers! I had 500 on Sat. and over 600 Sunday! Of course you lose some here and there and a lot of them are selling something but most are legitimate, angry Democrats fighting for their lives in states like WI, IN, OH, N.J. FL, MI - especially Michigan where the Gov. is really insane! New law - you won't believe this one - ready? Foster children are not allowed to buy their clothes in retail shops! Only in resale shops! I kid you not!!! God, am I old! Jack Paar used to say that. But do you believe this crap? This guy is running Michigan like he is their Emperor! They have got to get rid of him. Hopefully, they will, but I believe it has to be a year and then it will start like a wall of dominoes, with Walker of WI, Scott of FL, etc. etc. etc.
Now, this being Spring Break for Congress, these Republicans had to go home and they are holding Town Hall Meetings (some of them) and are they getting it from their constituents!
Re Medicare! They have shown films on TV with a senior saying, "you didn't say anything about this when you were campaigning, about cutting Medicare" and the Rep saying "We are not cutting Medicare" - Question: Did you vote yes on Ryan's Budget", Answer: Yes, I did. But we are not cutting Medicare. Liar, Liar, Pants on fire!!!!!! They want to give vouchers! A friend of mine has been diagnosed w/mild lymphoma that fortunately is treatable and is starting treatments tomorrow, the lst one is 6 hrs. Now, if he has a voucher, it would probably be gone as of tomorrow! This is still April, what would he do the rest of the year? Die? Sell his house? Unbelievable! Vouchers! Half of these teabaggers don't know what voucher means! It's a coupon, dummy! I may have spoken about this last time. If I did, forgive me. I'm old!!!!! Also, I am angry! I guarantee half the country doesn't know what deficit means and the other half couldn't care less! It's jobs, it's economy, it's war, etc. etc. etc. Hopefully, if Obama sticks to his word, the tax cuts for the rich will go back to where they were when Bill Clinton was Prez and that should take care of the deficit.
BTW, the Republican debates are starting next week. Just shoot me now! I hate them. I know, I don't have to watch them but I will. Just to torture myself and get my blood pressure up! Fortunately, my blood pressure is very good and I can get as mad as I want!
Trump is still all over the news. Now he is attacking Robert De Niro, why, I don't know. I saw the article but didn't feel like reading it. He thinks he is hurting Obama but he is an embarrassment to the Republicans and they all say he is actually helping Obama.
Now, re Palin. There are all kinds of rumors going around. One that she did not give birth to Trig and after what I am reading, I believe that could be true. New one, the oldest, Track or Trump or whatever, is not from Todd. I like that one. Now, normally, I couldn't give a hoot whose baby is whoever, but because she is always preaching about her morals, and her religion, this is why I care. I also (and of course, I could be wrong) don't think she will run for prez because a lot of the little nasties she has done in her previous life could come out and I don't think she would like that.
Another BTW, I got an e-mail from President Obama, thanking me for my e-mail(s) and assuring me that nothing is going to happen to social security! Hopefully, he is right!
On this Gang of Six, it seems that the 3 Dem Senators are caving to the Republicans. Now, what they are caving on I do not know. Just heard that they are caving. I will try to find out and hopefully I will get back to this without waiting a week!!!!

Mouthing off: Again, sorry for the lapse! The twitting is taking over my life! I think I'm up to about 430 followers - occasionallly you lose a couple - what I think happens is once in a while you get a conservative following you. You get an e-mail that tells you who is following you (which means everytime you tweet, it shows up where they are) and you can check them out and every so often it comes up that someone is following me who is "conservative, anti-Obama, " whatever, so I do not follow them. Now, what's happening!
Last weekend Sarah Palin gave a teabagger speech in Madison, WI of all places! The crowd was ENORMOUS!!!! BUT, not for her! There were quite a few less teabaggers there
(Bill Maher said he would stop callling them teabaggers when they stopped saying Obamacare!) than WI protesters against Republicans, especially Palin who was saying beautiful things about Walker! That's not the place to do it! Evidently, they were booing so loudly (I have seen films on UTube) that she had to screech (that's her nickname, by the way!) In fact, one of the newsmen, while reporting, said he was standing a few feet from her and couldn't hear her! Also, it was snowing! I can't remember if it was Sat. or Sun. but Sat. here, it was 98 deg. in Tarzana! It was so hot in the house that I couldn't imagine it had gotten so hot out but it did. Hot again on Sunday and Mon. it dropped in the 60's. Normally it doesn't jump around like that out here. Well, back to Wisconsin. As I said, it was not a place for her to be. She made $100,000 for that "speech". Can you believe that? I just don't understand it! They fawn over her - you can see the people behind her with adoration in their eyes! I spotted her for a phoney almost the minute she stepped out on that stage during the Republican convention! I would think men would be taken w/her but that women can see thru other women! Guess not!
Well, I believe 4 recalls petitions have been put in. They are getting well above the amount of sigs they need which is amazing! The Republicans started a petition for Lena Taylor, Democratic Sen. in the Milwaukee district, I believe. They got 2 signatures (that many?) and gave up! Now, I think that is funny! I cannot believe that Gov. Walker has a future in Wisconsin!
BTW, Prosser, I believe, gave an acceptance speech and told them to stop the foolishness of checking the ballots from Waukesha. Well, I tell you, there is a terrible smell out here and it is coming from Waukesha, Wisconsin! Something is very fishy there and I cannot and will not believe that whatever happened was legitimate! It is very stranges that it took her over a day to "remember" that she didn't put 14,000 votes thru! No, I refuse to believe it! I tweet w/a lot of Wisconsinites and they are amazing! Every Red state should take a lesson from them!
Now, on to the next red state: Michigan. Unbelievable what is going on there! Rick Snyder, Gov. (another bastard like Walker, but perhaps even worse!) had a put in a law (how this is legal is beyond me!) that if a town was having financial difficulties, he could replace someone and put in his own man, just anyone he wanted, whether they had experience or not or whatever! Well, last Friday (I believe it was Fri.) he fired the whole town of Benton Harbor. All the elected officials, that is! Can you believe something like that? I remember Benton Harbor, in fact, we spent a weekend there for our 1st anniversary, that was 52 yrs ago! It was, I believe if I remember correctly, a resort town. Now it is a poor town, changed like everything else. But I heard something yesterday that there are plans to develop it for rich people, something like that. There is always a deeper meaning for these things that these corrupt politicians do. I will follow up on that.
Ohio- Kasich, another bastard, you can look at these guys and they actually look mean. His "2nd in command" was yelling about the former governor (this was probably during the campaigning) mis-using the state airplane. Well, Kasich now has spent more $$$ using this plane in his 1st 3 1/2 mos. than the previous governor used in 13 mos.! Kasich has been going from city to city, some like a 3 hr drive away. But he flies! Now, no one would care except for the fact, he is firing left and right and cutting everything in sight to "save money" but not when it comes to his comfort.
Now, the Obama administration has formed a group they call the Gang of Six - 3 Republicans and 3 Democrats. The Democrats are Dick Durbin (IL) and Mark Warner - don't know where he is from and I forgot the 3rd. Doesn't matter. But people are very upset w/Durbin & Warner. The Gang of Six is there to go over the "entitlements" - Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid. This is making me ill. And it seems like Durbin & Warner are leaning over to the "right" and seem to think they are Republicans! I haven't been following it too much and maybe I should. So I could get a little more aggravated. Now, Social Security had 2.6 trillion dollars in it.But, evidently, right now it is filled w/IOU's! Well, they needed the $$$ for the wars, etc. Not that it won't be paid back, if we can't trust our government who can we trust. So, with this Gang of Six (what a name!) who knows .
Now, Obama's rating has gone down, I don't know why, and it also has gone down w/Hispanics, I don't know why that, either. But, not to worry! I think that every senior and their families, in fact everyone, should be made aware of the fact that should we get a Republican president in 2012, and the Senate turns Republican, that sure as shootin' we will have no more Medicare, Social Security or Medicaid! And - if the rich taxes haven't gone up as Obama said they would, they will go down, down, down, under a Republican regime. You can mark my words on that!!!!
One more thing - Donald Chump, er, I mean Trump! He is sort of planning to run for President. He doesn't say yes or no. He is too involved in running his mouth every day on every possible talk show, that Obama was not born in this country. Yesterday, Bill Price (Or Press, I am never sure of his name) used to have a show w/Buchanan, was on w/him yesterday and Bill said - Ok, 49 yrs ago a woman had a baby in Kenya, and an hr after he was born, she thought that maybe he would grow up to become president of the USA, so maybe she should put a birth notice in 2 American newspapers so she put 2 notices in the Honolulu papers! It was funny! So Buchanan said why doesn't he say something, show the birth certificates, etc. and Price (or Press!) said he's got more important things to do, jobs, wars, economy, etc. And he's right! But Lawrence O'Donnell says that on May 16 when NBC announces the shows that are going to be renewed for next yr and they will renew Trump's show, that will be the end of the "birthers" for Trump! He makes a ton of money from that show (God only knows why) and he needs and wants the money. Someone saw a bumper sticker that said Trump/Palin 2012 - You're fired/I quit! Quite funny!

So sorry for the lapse but I have been sitting & twitting (I have a pinched nerve that is affecting the sciatic nerve & when I sit where I sit & tweet it is the worse & I am in terrible pain but I still sit & tweet - or twit!!!) Anyhow, that's what I am doing w/my I-Pad. Someone tweeted that Palin got an I-Pad and said "It's not all that absorbent"! Lots of Palin jokes! Lots! Well, it looks like Obama's budget went thru but who knows! I sent a few e-mails & I like to think that they actually helped. The House voted 235 I believe - for Ryan's "Road Map to Hell" - 4 GOP's voted against it. Now, it ends Medicare altho they say it doesn't. Believe me, it does! One thing they don't say and I found out about it on Twitter and I looked it up - between the ages of 65-67 you cannot get a Medicare voucher or anything so basically you are uninsured! Now these people, many of them, must have seniors in their district and I don't care how rich you are (except for the top 1% or 2%) you want that Medicare! When I worked, I worked for a couple who are millionaires and cheat on their taxes like crazy! Like crazy!!! I could tell you stories but I won't . Not at this time, anyhow! They loved their social security checks and their Medicare! They just about drooled everytime the checks came! So, if my Congressman voted to end it I believe I would think twice about voting for them again. However, if Obama does not win the election and the Senate falls into the GOP's hands, Social Security & Medicare will just be fond memories! And Ryan was so upset yesterday! He looked like he was going to cry! Had to ask the Weeper of the House for a hanky! He expected Obama to hand him an olive branch - instead he got thorns! The Prez gave a beautiful speech yesterday. A lot of people are saying that is why they voted for him and I can say that, also. Of course, I wasn't going to vote for McCain especially w/the Screech running w/him. She is in Wisconsin today, God knows why! I Speaking of WI, I loved the films of Walker in court yesterday - under oath - it was beautiful! He thought he was getting a free trip to D.C., good restaurants, nice hotel, easy questions by Republicans! Wrong! He was actually sweating and it seemed to me, at least what I saw, they were mostly Democrats questioning him and it was brutal! But you couldn't feel sorry for that creep and creep is what he is!!! If he lasts longer than the one year I will be surprised! I don't know what is happening with the judicial votes, but I saw somewhere that Prosser is still ahead w/over 7,000 votes but it just seems so strange to me. Heard there is a blizzard or something in Nebraska - hope it isn't all over the mid-west. It was cold here last week but warmed up but they were talking on Twitter about a blizzard. BTW, Trump is leading in the Republica Prez poll. However, they are such losers in that list that I can't even think it is important that he is winning. Really an icky list this time. I personally don't think he is serious about this, I believe it is all about his show but who knows and seriously, I really don't care! I have Sen. Chuck Schumer following me now on Twitter! That means that everything I tweet (and I tweet a lot!) shows up where he is. I have almost 340 followers last time I looked and it is very exciting. I have my I-Pad glued to me! Well, that's about it. I'm sure I will remember something later but it will have to wait!

Well, I ended last time w/the government not closing. Chances are, it could close this Friday. Who knows! This country is getting a little too crazy for me! First of all, I read yesterday that Obama is going to cut something from Medicare and possibly do something to Social Security. Saw someone on TV yesterday, the head of The Nation Mag. Katrina Vanden Heuval , who said they should leave Soc.Sec. alone (I would abrieviate it to S.S. but that is what the GOP does, so I don't!) as it is working so well. Everyone - everyone that I watch of course, you know I am biased - says that it the top 1% or 2% paid the taxes they are supposed to pay AND if G.E. and B of A, etc. paid taxes they wouldn't have to cut Soc.Sec. or Medicare or Medicaid! Or Planned Parenthood! (which they don't have to cut anyhow, it's just the name that offends them!) However, I have been hearing quite a lot of people saying that the country is not broke and I believe that. Well, tomorrow we will find out just what is going to happen, maybe, if the Teabaggers (or as someone on Twitter calls them - the Teacrappers) agree to go along. BTW, no one knows just what was cut last Friday. I imagine we will find that out, also. Cong. Mike Pence of IN, the one that made the slip of the tongue that I wrote about in the last blog, he was interviewed last Fri I believe and asked about closing the govt down just because of not defunding P.P. and he said "yes, he would" and then afterwards when they didn't close the govt and didn't defund P.P. he was asked again and said they wouldn't close the govt down just because P.P. wasn't defunded. He is such a liar and I sent him an e-mail today - not exactly calling him a liar but said he lied. Is that the same thing? On Twitter, I re-tweeted something about Kathy Nicklaus the woman who made the big "mistake" about 7,000 votes she forgot to put in, a whole day later when she didn't really tell anyone about it but called the press, I believe. I could be wrong. Won't be the lst time. Anyhow, someone tweeted that they should look at all her e-mails and I re-tweeted that and some idiot right-winger tweeted me personally and said something like they should look at my e-mails. My e-mails? Really funny, I don't write too many of them as I text a lot, but my e-mails would put you to sleep! So I tweeted him back and said my e-mails are an open book, something like that, and he tweeted back but I never saw it until later that he wanted my e-mail address to check (WHAT????) but I did'nt see that until today and then he tweeted that I wouldn't give him my e-mail address and called me - are you ready for this? "a typical liberal ass wipe". Gave me a laugh! I tweeted his name and said what he called me and asked if ass wipe was 1 word or 2 and someone tweeted me back saying it was hyphenated and laughed! It was funny! I get people following me on Twitter (If you don't know Twitter, if you follow someone you see all their tweets) who are GOP, gun-toting, Obama haters, etc. I can't do anything about it, I think I could block them but don't know how but do not follow them back. 90% of the tweeters in my group are like me. I love it! It has taken over my life and now w/my I-Pad I can keep it in my lap & when I watch the news I can tweet while watching. It is really affecting me, I cannot get anything done, and I love it! Donald Trump is going crazy w/exposure! Is he running or is he not running? Now they are saying he will run but hopefully this crazy country won't nominate him or actually, maybe they should nominate him because I cannot and won't believe he would actually be elected. Palin's ratings are dropping as they should but she is still around. Someone on Twitter calls her Screech, because of her voice. When she speaks to me it is like someone running their nails across a blackboard! But it is Bachmann that we have to watch out for. She raises money like crazy! She raised over l3 mill for her campaign in a small district in MN who I am sure she never visits, probably doesn't even know where it is. She has that crazy glare, someone on TV called it a Laser Look - which it is. Well, tomorrow is the big day with Obama's announcement. Let's just wait and see!

Yeah, I know - I haven't been here for a while. But here I am! Watched last nite until I was sick of it all. Well, as you must know now, the government is open and everyone (almost) is sort of happy. Not me, of course. Well, it's only a temporary open! Same crap next week. Nobody knows what was given in the billions - lost track of how much - really, no one is telling what cuts were made. However, we know for sure that they didn't cut funding for Planned Parenthood as the Teabaggers wanted! Can you believe that they were holding out only because of Planned Parenthood? Someone at Huffington Post wrote that "a pap smear" was making the government shut down! Now, retiring Sen. Kyl (R-AZ) said that P.P.'s work is 90% abortions! Lie! They did 3% last year! They gave almost 1 million mammograms! They give pap smears! They give birth control pills! 1 out of 5 women go to P.P. Lawrence O'Donnell on his show read an e-mail from a woman that was so emotional that he couldn't read anymore and they went into a commercial. He was so broken up by her letter. I won't go thru the letter but she did say that birth control pills cost $90 a month and w/insurance cost, I think it was $73 a month. And later a Dem. Congresswoman from CA spoke about an abortion she had to have which was devastating and she said that $90 a month was a lot of money when you are out of work as this woman was. Well, $90 a month is a lot of $$$ even when you are working because that is only one little thing you are spending your money on, there is food, rent, clothing, etc. etc. These Teabaggers are not rich people. You must have seen some of them on the news. They mostly look (to me) like street people! But they are crazy! They are fanatic! Anyhow, Karl Rove sent a letter around telling his fellow Republicans that when Newt Gingrich closed the govt down it helped Clinton and then Clinton was re-elected! That kind of scared the Reps - they certainly don't want to help Obama. But Obama is driving everyone crazy! Whatever they ask for he gives them. His Democrats in the Senate are not too happy about that. Now, Boehner was really in a bind because he was being driven by the T.B. (teabaggers from now on) and they said after the agreement was made by Harry Reid the Senate Majorty Leader & Boehner, the Speaker of the House, that Boehner kind of screwed them (they did not use those words)and they were going to get back at him. One of the T.B. Mike Pence of Indiana gave a speech and he said and I quote "We are doing this to help the Republican people ....I mean, the American people!" He actually said that! Now Eric Cantor, the whip of the House, gave a speech and he was at the mike and he said something like this "Now, let's talk about how all this really started" and there was a chant behind him - BUSH! BUSH! BUSH! BUSH! and he looked around bewildered and finally even he had to laugh! It was humorous at a troubling time. Now, this is not over. It will go on this coming week and again with the threat of closing next Fri nite. They will discuss Cong.Paul Ryan's (R-WI) budget which I call "The Final Solution" (original title belonged to Hitler) He wants to get rid of Medicare and give the rich permanent tax cuts AND cut their taxes down from 35% to 25%! Just shoot me now!!!! It was almost comical! It is comical! Without Medicare it will cost seniors (me!) about - well, I can't figure that high! It will be thousands and thousands and no one I know can afford it. I sent an e-mail to Pres. Obama (I've done it before - never hear back from him) re Medicare. Without Medicare my husband & I would probably be dead! We pay a lot of money to Blue Cross - we have the best insurance possible - but it costs us. And we thank God for Medicare (and Lyndon Johnson, I believe). The Reps want to cut funds for the EPA, because who cares about the air we breath, they want to cut funds for air controllers, stuff you can't believe! Well, enuf about them. Let's see what happens this week. Now, On Wisconsin! When I woke up (we were at the beach in Avila, right by San Luis Obispo) Wed. a.m. I found out that Joanne Kloppenburg had won the election by a hair! Literally by a hair! I got all this by Twitter and a little news. Then on Thurs. I found out about Waukesha County and the l4,000 votes that had mysteriously not been put into the system. Yesterday they had a whole thing on this Nicklaus woman who used to work for Prosser (the opponent) and had screwed up a number of election ballots and how the hell she kept her job is beyond me! Oh yes, it is politics! You're not supposed to be partisan in that job! But she said "It was a human error" - he won by 7,000 votes!!!!!!! Now, the day before they were having a recount. But w/7000 votes you don't have a recount. There is going to be a recount done by Kloppenberg people but it will cost and they are asking for donations. It is sad. I don't know, I don't understand it. I was up Tues nite and tweeting and the WI tweeters were going crazy. The votes were up and down. He was winning - she was winning - it was really crazy. Someone tweeted - I feel like throwing up! There never was a voter turnout ever for a judicial vote! This was an important judicial vote, it was the "break the tie" judicial! They are supposed to have an investigation by the Federal Govt. We shall see! Meanwhile, Donald Trump is going crazy!!!! He is most likely going to run for Prez when his show is over, he can't do it now while the show is running and evidently, his rating are so high, they are skyrocketing, on NBC (I wouldn't watch it if it were the only program on) He has become a "birther" and he is nauseating! He hired people to go to Kenya and to Hawaii to check out Pres. Obama's birth. He said his people spoke to Obama's grandmother and she said he was born in Kenya and she was right there. Well, let me tell you about her! She is his step-grandmother and no way was she there when he was born! Most likely didn't even know his grandfather 49 yrs ago! Obama has a birth certificate! End of story! But Trump (or as someone called him - Chump!) is not letting go. He held a meeting in NYC yesterday for birthers! Someone keeps tweeting that they want to see the birth certificate for that thing on his head! He was in the news so much yesterday that I got sick. He was on the Today show w/Meredith Viera and they played it over and over and over.Blich!!!! Now, better news. Glen Beck is out - well, technically he is not gone yet! But he will be. He was either fired or he quit - my $$$ is on fired! He is an animal. He was fired because of his bashing Obama constantly and of course, he was losing sponsor after sponsor and audience, too! I can't say I'll miss him because I never watch him but they do show bits of him on the news I watch and he really is crazy! Well, I am exhausted. I will try to keep up to date. Well, I actually do not know what is happening in the world, not that I ever really knew what is happening all over. In Wisconsin, tomorrow is the big day - Prosser vs Kloppenberg (I think I got that right!) Sarah Palin has endorsed Prosser - don't know if he is too thrilled w/that. It really is a bigger election than it would normally be. Hopefully, the Democrats will really make a showing and I know that there will be a lot of Republicans voting Democratic as should be. This will be happening all over the country. I just hope in 2012 people will not forget what happened this year and of course, so many of them unfortunately will be suffering financially, it will be hard to forget. These Republican Governors are unbelievable. It's like one after the other. I tweeted something about Rick Scott, Gov. FL and someone tweeted back asking if he was the same one that defrauded Medicare & Medicaid and I knew he did something shady in his past but couldn't remember what. Well, I googled him and got back to her and sure enuf he was the same one. How the hell someone like that gets elected to be governor of a state is beyond me. Now, I don't remember all I blogged so if I repeat myself , sorry. This same Rick Scott is cutting funds from the handicapped! Can you believe that? AND he ran in the run for getting $$$ for Special Olympics. How do you cut funds for handicapped people? Now, in the House budget they are cutting funds for poor people's heat in the winter. They are cutting from education all over the place and at the same time they are cutting from the poor, they are also cutting from the rich - TAXES!!!! Everyone I have watched on TV that discuss this, are saying that if they got tax $$ from corporations and from the upper 2%, it would get rid of the deficit eventually. But, however, they are still talking about "entitlements" - which we know are Social Security & Medicare & Medicale - now the word ENTITLEMENTS means exactly what it sounds like it means - something you are entitled to. I just don't understand that there aren't poor people or people in the Republican party that need these "entitlements". Now, the teabaggers that are holding up the whole thing, are mostly middle income people, who need social security and medicare. It is very confusing to me. I know I spoke about this before but it is still going on and the way it looks right now, as I said the last time, the government will closed down in 4 days! Today commemorates the day Martin Luther King was shot, it is also my birthday! Now, the same year, it was 1968, on my son's birthday June 6, Bobby Kennedy was shot and I believe he died the next day. When MLK was killed, it was spring vacation and we lived in Chicago and we were taking the kids to Springfield for vacation (I am pretty sure it was 1968) and we had to call the highway patrol to see if the roads were safe because the southside of Chicago was burning. Then, when Bobby Kennedy was shot, I was listening to the radio and was wondering why they were talking about JFK again and didn't realize it was another Kennedy that was killed. Bad times! But it is still bad times. I have never seen this country like this before. It's actually like a war between the 2 parties, or actually, 3 parties now! Do not know what is happening in Libya. Obama said we will not have soldiers on the ground there and so far we have not. It has been turned over to NATO but I don't think they are doing too well there. Japan - it is very bad there re the radiation. Just the earthquake and tsunami were very bad and would have crippled the country but the radiation is something else. It looks like no end in sight! Well, as I said, it is my birthday and I am going away for a couple of days and will get back w/more news hopefully - soon.

Breaking news!!!!! Dan Kapanke - 1st Wisconsin Republican Senator to be recalled!!!!!! They had over 100% of the signatures needed and a new election will be scheduled for his seat. I actually didn't know how that worked but now I do! I thought that they went to court and that it was a long drawn out thing and had to prove that they did something, etc. etc. So, evidently when Gov. Grey Davis (D-CA) was recalled started by Cong. Darrel Issa (more about him later) all they did was collect signatures! I never signed anything! Oh, I have to assume they only collected Republican signatures, duh! Anyway, I think that is very exciting w/Wisconsin. Hopefully, they will recall all that they are trying to recall and hopefully, the Senate will be held by the Democrats. Wow! Very exciting for Wisconsin! Now, I know they are trying to recall some of the Wisconsin 14 but most likely, I hope, they will not be able to get the required signatures. Now - Issa! He is under investigation in D.C. I haven't really been following it but I did learn something on the news yesterday. Issa, who was against "earmarks", (earmarks are something like asking for $$$ for your state - for repairs, etc. and most of them are supposed to be against earmarks) they showed a film of couple of yrs ago when he was ranting against earmarks. Well, he asked for 2 mil. for widening a road in Vista, CA and bus stops by a medical bldg. He rec'd I believe 800,000 and it so happens that he has a business in that medical bldg. and the road he wanted to widen is the road in front of that bldg. and, oh yes, he wanted more parking space for that bldg. To sum it up, the $800,000 he rec'd is all for his own personal business! How about that? Now, he should be recalled for that! I don't know what is going to happen but I certainly hope something does happen. Who knows how long he has been doing that? BTW, he is currently trying to get Pres. Obama impeached. He has been bad-mouthing Obama for months now trying to get him out. He is bad news and I have hated him since the Grey Davis affair. Speaking of lousy Republicans - which is most of what I do - Gov. Rick Snyder of Michigan is right up there heading my list. He is doing so many bad things to the poor state of Michigan but his latest is vile - he is cutting unemployment checks for people collecting them - 6 WEEKS BEFORE THEIR UNEMPLOYMENT EXPIRES!!!! I don't know how that works and I never really thought that a governor had control over that, but evidently they do. Now, Michael Moore lives in MI, and it has got to be killing him. He was and is a big advocate for Wisconsin,was out there giving speeches, etc and I know he did that in MI, also, but it is getting worse. In Ohio, Kasich is another bad apple, very,very, bad! He is cutting so much that there will be thousands out of work in that state. Oh, BTW, Michigan has probably the highest unemployment of all of them. Now, Kasich just signed the "no collective bargaining" bill and if they can get enough signatures in - I'm not sure of the time - 6 wks or something like that - then the bill will not go thru and it will be voted on in November. Back to Wisconsin - the judge had turned down the bill that Walker presented as they voted on it "sneakily" (is that a word? Or is it something Palin would say?) and they can present it again after they do it the right way. Well, that wasn't good enuf for Walker so he decided he would enforce the bill anyway, even tho the judge rejected it. Judge rejected it again and after much back & forth, he finally went along w/the judge's ruling. Well, good for him! (yeah, right!) Japan - The Tokyo Electric Power Co. has not been able to stabilize the plant's dangerously overheating reactors since cooling systems were knocked out in the tsunami on 3/11. One of the reactors contained iodine concentration that were 10,000x the government standard for the plant. Seems to be an error in the computer program used to analyze the date and the recent figures may be wrong. But then again, they may be correct. The don't know. Radiation is still streaming out of the plant and the Japanese have asked for help from all the countries. They are waiting for giant pumps from U.S. They say it is unlikely that radiation seeping would affect drinking water. But "unlikely" is different from "definitely"! It is going to be endless. Now they find that the radiation is in the milk in Washington state. Very little, in fact, I read that there is radiation in everything. Great to hear that, no? Budget - the House Reps have asked for a 100 billion in budget cuts and the Senate Dems are giving, giving, giving. They are making me sick. Well, the Reps were satisfied as the Dems gave more and more - HOWEVER, and this is a big HOWEVER, the Tea Partiers (I call them teabaggers - on Twitter someone calls them teacrappers!) want more. They had a demo in D.C. yesterday - couple of hundred turned out which is really not a lot. If they don't get what they want the government will closed down on 4/8/11. And they will blame the Democrats. Now, the real Republicans - the ones w/John Boehner, the Weeper of the House, are ok w/what the Dem. Senators have offered but the T.P. are not ok w/it. It's like having 3 political parties in office. One of the things they are cutting is heat for the poor elderly! Can you believe that? Meanwhile, B of A, G.E. and many, many more ARE NOT PAYING TAXES AT ALL! Now only are they not paying taxes, here's an example of what is happening in this country - let's take G.E. - not only do they not take taxes - THEY GET BILLIONS IN TAX REFUNDS!!!!!!! Now, can someone please explain that????? If all these major corporations paid taxes, and all the big oil cos. paid taxes and the super rich paid the taxes they are supposed to pay, then - only then, can the poor people get heat in the winter!!!!! I can't talk about it anymore - it literally get me ill! IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!!!!

I know it's been a few days. Sorry about that. This a.m. I had to get up at 5:30 and woke up at 4:30 so I decided to stay up because I was afraid I would oversleep as I'm being p/u at 7:30 or so. Well, when I went into the bathroom I saw it was 3:30 a.m. I have a new clock in my bedroom and I tried to set alarm (I never set alarms - reminds me too much of my working days!) and evidently I did something wrong and made it an hr later. My husband reads before he falls asleep and I woke up at 2 a.m. & he was still reading and I said something to him so he immediately turned off his book lite & went to sleep. Well, I realized this a.m. it was l a.m. I am going on and on and on because I don't think I am actually awake. Ok- Japan found plutonium in soil outside of the nuclear reactors & highly radioactive water was found in tunnells that reached beyond one reactor. I don't know exactly what that means but I know it is not good. I think thousands and thousands are going to die from radiation. It will be years before it is all cleared up - not in my time, that's for sure. With problem in Libya we are not hearing as much about Japan anymore. Let me just throw something in here. Trump - who keeps talking about running for prez (I wish he would run and keep running, far away! He's getting to be a pain!) and he is now a "Birther" - all he can talk about is Obama not being born here. The Governor of Hawaii was a friend of Obama's parents and he vouches for him being born in Hawaii & Trump doesn't believe him. Trump supplied his birth certificate and it turned out not to be the official birth certificate but a hospital certificate, a certification of birth signed by doctor at hosp. Someone tweeted that it was a death certificate of that thing on his head. Have you seen him lately? His hair is something else! He really is annoying. Well, the GOP is threatening to shut the government down on 4/8/11. Actually, it is probably not the Republicans per se, but the Teabaggers or as they are known on Twitter, the Teacrappers! Seriously, the teapartiers are really getting crazy and making The Weeper of the House, Boehner, crazy, also. Now Eric Cantor is next in line and is breathing down Boehner's neck. If they oust Boehne, which they can very well do, Cantor takes over! It's not like a 3 party system, but it is the Republicans against the Republicans! It's all because the budget. The Dems keep giving in (kills me that they do that, we control the Senate, the White House and still give in to them) The Budget, they want to cut Meals on Wheels, for the poor and handicapped (nice, huh?) college $$$ for the middle class so the kids can't go to college, heating for the poor, all kinds of crazy things that should not be cut when all they have to do is make G.E., Wal-Mart, etc. & the oil cos. pay taxes! That would solve the deficit. IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE! Well, not to us! Michelle Bachmann - who most likely will be running for prez and could actually get nominated, wants to raise taxes for single parents. Where do they get all this? What kind of people are they? Palin - on Pres. Obama's speech - I, for one, didn't know what the hell she was talking about. I hate to keep bringing up Twitter but someone on there calls her Screech and that is exactly what she does - she screeches and to my husband & myself it is like someone scratching nails on a blackboard! She said it is costing $550 mil a day for us to be in this coalition for Libya. She never gets her facts straight, remember - she is the Dumb in Dumb & Dumber. It has cost $550 for the 10 days! Quite a difference, no? Now, she says that Ghadaffi will attack the U.S. All the Reps are yelling about Libya. Now, if it were Bush, they wouldn't say a word. W/Bush we could be at war w/Iran, Libya, and God knows how many other countries including the ones we are already at war/w and it would be fine with the GOP! Alan Grayson, former Cong. (D) from FL said yesterday - if Obama wanted a bacon sandwich they woud outlaw bacon! They are so against him. Mostly it is racism, some of it is because he is so brilliant, cool, has a beautiful family, etc. Now, another African-American man is trying to run for prez - Herman Cain, his vast experience is he is a former CEO for Godfather Pizza!!!! And his big announcement in Iowa last week was he would never have a Muslim in his cabinet or on the Supreme Court. Well, back to the local state and rotten Governors. They passed a law in Ohio that to register to vote you must have pic i.d. Thousands don't, poor people, seniors, etc. And those votes are mostly Democratic. They are probably going to do that all over the Red states. Gov. Walker, in WI, who was told by a judge last week that the way he presented that collective bargaining destroyer bill was against the law and had to vote on it again. Well, Walker didn't want to vote on it again because probably so many people are against it he was afraid it wouldn't get passed so he signed it again and are implementing it. Now the judge declared again that it is unconstitutional what he did and said he cannot do it and he ignored her a 2nd time and signed it again and is putting it thru. Is this America? Where am I living? Sounds like Nazi Germany to me! Kashich in Ohio has put thru so many crazy things, his approval rating is going down, down, down, and so is Walkers, Snyders of MI, Daniels of IN, Christie of N.J. , Scott of FL (he is a real winner) And there are more. Well, now I am so exhausted - now I could really go to sleep. That's it for today.

Sometimes I have a terrible time getting on this blog. It is very strange. Somedays it is right there and others takes me a few frustrating minutes. Well, it's cold here and was raining again. On Twitter, someone who is "following" me sent me a note. On Twitter you have a little bio - not always necessary but most do. I put on mine that I am a former Chicagoan living in the beautiful blue state of Calif. So, she wrote that she is a former Californian living near Chicago. Boo. Hoo. I told her not to feel bad, it's not always the weather that makes your life better and besides, it has been unusually cold here. I do not remember a March like this ever! Even tho it is cold, it is part of Global Warming no matter what your Republican friends tell you. Well, exciting news. The Newt says "he hopes to jump into race shortly, within a month." Now, doesn't that sort of make your day? He also said - and I quote "the water is pretty warm. My hope is that within a month that we'll be swimming very rapidly". Is that supposed to mean something? He may bypass the exploratory committee phase of presidential campaigning and go straight to announcing his candidacy. OMG! Enuf already! You know you're running - let's cut this crap! He is making me sick. I am so not looking forward to this next yr & l/2 of campaigning! I couldn't stand it 2 yrs ago and I will not be able to stand it again! However, I am on Twitter which is taking over my life! I am up to 108 followers and I just love it. It will make life easier to handle the campaigning. Just about everyone in my section hates Palin, Bachmann, Gingrich, The Weeper of the House Boehner, Glen Beck, Rush Limbaugh, etc. etc. etc. as much as I do so it is a lot of fun. Palin's Israel trip created tons of jokes. So, as much as I can't stand it, it should make for a funny campaign season. Libya: Libyan rebels take back 2 key oil centers an push back to capitol. They said it couldn't be done without Nato who gave them big support. U.S.Def. Sec'y gates said the initial action appeared to be a success. This should be a boost to Pres. Obama who has been getting a lot of flak about this - they have been complaining from both sides of the aisle because he hasn't asked for their input about U.S. role, etc. Well, whatever he does is not right. If it is something the Reps wanted to do and he does it - then it is wrong also. It's always wrong because he is black and he is always going to be black! They haven't quite gotten it thru their head yet - WE HAVE A BLACK PRESIDENT! That's it! Now, dingbat Michelle Bachmann is in Iowa and they said she "wow'd" them. I don't think we can count her out even tho she is so dumb. She is a money-making machine. She collected l3.5 mil. for her run in MN - very small district - don't think she even knows where it is or anyone there or is ever there. She is very content to be before the cameras - she never met a camera she didn't love! Things are evidently not so good in Japan. It's like Libya knocked Japan off of our radar. The republicans love all this stuff as it got people to stop thinking of the rotten, lousy, governors in the l6 states. Wait until the royal wedding, it will knock everything off the map! Anyhow, in Japan. they had incorrect radiation figures and shortage of storage tanks. What that means I do not know , but I do know it can't be good. They are suffering so badly there. That radiation has got to be spreading like crazy and it will take a lifetime to clean it up. You really have to feel so bad for them. Of course, you have to feel bad for us, too. Our plants in this country are old and have to be checked and as far as I know, NOTHING is being done to check them. We just try not to think of them and honestly,who thought of them before this happened in Japan? That's it for now - it is ll:18 and I have to have breakfast!

We are having the worst March since we moved here almost 28 yrs ago! Rain Sunday was unbelievable and I think it rained Monday and again yesterday afternoon, buckets! It is raining badly up north and it usually comes down here afterwards. We shall see. Meanwhile, it is cold! I don't ever remember having heat on in afternoon!
Anyhow, it's been a couple of days. Here goes!
Re: Libya
Breakthrough reached after backing by Turkey. At first they would join in but now they have. Actually, 28 countries are in this group. Should have been like that in Iraq! The No Fly Zone is evidently working regardless what the Republicans keep saying! They are bashing Obama like crazy. Well, what else is new! Or, rather, Newt! He's the one doing the most bashing! We are handing the reins over to Nato. They will do the leading and then we won't be in 3 wars in the Middle East at one time! Whew! That's a relief! The 28 member nations all agreed to the No Fly Zone and many lives were saved. Some, of course, were lost but we couldn't control that. One of our planes crashed, not hit, but a malfunction and fortunately no lives lost! Pilots parachuted out. BTW, the UAE are part of this group. Our new role will be "behind the scenes" so to speak.
We are actually part of the backbone of NATO. The No Fly Zone can't last long, so they say. Re Ghadaffi, who knows? He really should be removed but that's not for me to say (Ha! Ha!) He is a monster, really. Has killed so many people for no reason. Meanwhile, the killing hasn't stopped. The No Fly Zone has helped quite a bit but it is not over.
Now, back to U.S.A. Michelle Bachmann (Dear God give me strength!) is forming an Exploratory Committee. That is the new thing now - it is a preamble before committing to say "I am running for President". I think it's new - I don't remember ever hearing about it before. So, now - 3 Republicans have "formed an Exploratory Committee". Wow! I am very excited!

Michelle Bachmann is not the sharpest knife in the drawer! In fact, it's a toss-up between her and Palin - who is dumbest or as they are sometimes called Dumb & Dumber. (In Twitter, which has taken over my life, someone who tweets, when he talks about Palin called her the Screecher! Did you ever listen to her voice? SHE SCREECHES!!!!) Back to Bachmann - she has 5 children and she had 23 foster kids. She home-schooled her kids, don't know about the foster kids. But can you believe it? She really is dim and she home-schooled those kids! OMG!

Locally - Governors - John Kasich of Ohio - is probably the meanest of all of them. He looks mean! Always has this scowl on his face. He is not only taking away collective bargaining, cutting $$$ from education, give tax breaks to the rich, but now he is going to have the liquor stores privatized. Evidently liquor stores are run by the state. Something I never knew, maybe only in Ohio? Who knows! Also, he is going to - get this - sell the prisons! Anyone want to buy a prison? I forgot the amount but much lower than they are worth and then these private owners can hire anyone they want - even ex-cons! I would imagine they could. So, if the prisons are sold that means all these prison guards will be out of work. A lot of what these governors are doing are going to put thousands of more people out of work. And - Ohio does not have a recall system as they do in Michigan & Wisconsin. Wisconsin is looking good, from what I hear. They are getting signatures and hopefully we will be hearing soon about the recall motion being set up.
Lot of unhappy people there. Lot of Republican "buyer's remorse" they are saying in all these states. I don't understand some of these things. Gov. Rick Scott in FL (Digger O'Dell) has a very bad background. Someone that tweets has a blog and I read it (puts me to shame!) . It was about each of these Republican governors and all the info about their past. I can't remember any of it, if I could ever find it again I would print it which is what I should have done. But I do remember that Scott's background was terrible. What I don't understand - when someone is running for office usually the opposition digs around for dirt and how all this didn't come out beforehand or if it did, HOW THE HELL DID HE GET ELECTED! Oh yes, I believe he is a Tea Partier! Or, as one of the tweeters calls it - teacrapper! That's how the FL senator Mark something or other, got elected, by the Tea Party.
On Bill Maher's show couple of weeks ago he had Dana Loesch. She is the founder of the Tea Party in Kansas City, I believe and she also works for CNN. Young woman, very pretty, not what I think of when I heard Tea Partiers. Now, Bill always calls them Teabaggers and she corrected him, she didn't like that. However, it's ok to say Obamacare! Only the rightwingers call it Obamacare - it is National Health Care, which, by the way, is a year old! Doing beautifully. Wonderful thing for our country but the Righties are determined to repeal it. And determined to get rid of Social Security. You know, when I e-mail Barbara Boxer and Dianne Feinstein, I ALWAYS get an e-mail back from them. Now, I understand, I am a constituant of theirs. I sent an e-mail to Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and never heard from him. Of course, it wasn't a nice e-mail and I did say he would never be Senate Majority Leader and I did say something not nice about Kentucky, but so what? He could have answered me.

Well, it is raining on & off here today. Sun comes out & then it starts to rain or pour - really crazy!
Well, lots of fighting going on in Libya. Anti-aircraft fire in Tripoli, going on for 3 days now, taking out tanks & aircraft (Libyan) in the east . French & American fighter bombers in No Fly Zone. Coalition forces intend to expand Libyan No Fly Zone. The U.S. is handing over control of Libyan mission to other countries in a "matter of days" per Obama in his speech made in Chile. Ghadaffi was going to - get this - put dead bodies that they got from morgues all around to show the world what the Americans have done - how many of his people we killed! Do you believe him? Well, evidently the word got out and he trashed that plan! He is really insane. U.S. officials say that killing Ghadaffi is not what they are planning to do. Meanwhile, Ghadaffi has committed genocide so I don't know what they are planning to do there. But G (I'm tired of typing Ghadaffi) is threatening the West w/ a "long, drawn-out war" and I am sure he means it. Meanwhile, Obama is getting a lot of criticism from both sides of the aisle. Kucinich is saying we don't have the resources to be in this war, and he is probably right. He also says that what Obama did is unconstitutional, going to war has to be brought before Congress. A President cannot do that on his own and air strikes can be an impeachable offense. Meanwhile this is what some Republicans are sayins:
Palin - saying this, I believe in Israel - which I think stinks! She bashed Obama in India and now doing it in Israel. She said

Palin was in India, where she bombed. I don't remember if I wrote about this but she was "out of her depth" and she really didn't know what she was talking about. She went there with the former lst sleeze of Alaska. Anyhow, she pronounced Iran
"Eye-ran" - can you believe that? Of course you can! BTW, she was paid for her speech! Probably in rupees!
Now she is in Israel. Someone tweeted that she told them she would try very hard to change the name of Juneau to Jewneau! I thought that was funny! She is wearing a Jewish star! She really makes me ill. She wanted to go to Bethlehem but in her warped mind she didn't realize that it was "over the border" and she ended up changing her mind! She prayed at the wailing wall - someone tweeted that she said that there weren't too many whales - must be out of season! Some of the jokes they make are laugh out loud jokes!
Meanwhile, back here - the House of Representatives really don't have much too do. They are supposed to find jobs but I think they don't remember that that's what they are supposed to do. So, this is what they did. DDE had made In God We Trust the motto for this country and what they did today was vote to REAFFIRM that and vote they did! Got 100% BTW!
Speaking of God - Sen. Jim DeMint (R-N or S C - can't remember and who cares!) says - and get this -

Ok, lst - local news. By local, I mean right here. It is raining buckets here - literally! Now, today was the L.A. Marathon which they didn't cancel, I guess those things don't get cancelled. There were hundreds that suffered from hyperthermia. There were medics all over the place. It was (and is!) very cold out and some were running in inch-high water. They had medical facilities and they were wrapping the people in something that looked like foil, probably was foil. It retains heat. Unbelievable! In Tarzana they showed a eucalyptus tree that fell on a car and split the car in half! A gas station up in Castaic that a roof - looked like it was over the gas pumps, collapsed onto 2 cars. And snow up in the mountains, tons of snow! Good thing it is a Sunday. Lots of power outages - hope it doesn't happen here.
Ok, enuf of that! Sara Palin is travelling in Israel & India. Don't ask me why! I guess this will mean she has foreign experience. But I read an article that said she really bombed in India and that she "was out of her depth" and really didn't know what she was talking about. Why am I not surprised! She even thru in a story about a moose that her daughters saw! Who cares!
Libya: The missiles are coming from ships - evidently the lst missile came from a British ship. A building in the Ghadaffi compound was hit and badly. Don't know about any injuries. Now, McCain is saying that Obama waited too long. Had he done some sooner, we would have been by ourselves and they would complain about that. Whatever he does is wrong. A lot is happening there and I can't keep up w/it but we are not alone and no one can fault us.
Japan - radiation found in milk and spinach near the plants. I heard something yesterday about being careful here with the spinach from Japan and I really couldn't understand what they were talking about. Why would Japan send us spinach. lst of all, they are running out of food there and 2nd, don't we grow spinach in this country? And, if we didn't, wouldn't we buy it from someplace closer than Japan? Anyhow, now I hear that the water near the plant showed traces of radiation. But earlier I heard that the water in Tokyo showed traces of radiation. Each station tell you something else. Whatever they are saying, this radiation will be around for years and years!Also, what I don't understand is - how do we get radiation in California and they don't mention any place else? Now, I know it depends on which way the wind is blowing but there has to be some country between Japan and our West Coast.
Back to here - fortunately we have food in the house. I did a big shopping this week and fortunately (again) I over-bought so we are ok. We are flooded in front and back but so far, ok in the house. I am sitting here and listening to the rain! I haven't heard them say when it is going to stop.

Now - Wisconsin - "Scott Walter Under Fire" - headlines. A judge halts his "collective bargaining" bill because it was kind of a shady way to get a bill passed. Especially since he gave them a 2 hr notice! It is just stopped temporarily until they vote on it again and since that time there are a ton of people (I hope!) who don't like that bill and hopefully some of these Republican Senators are going to be intimadated by their constituants and change their votes. I hope again! V.P. Biden gave a beautful speech, I think it was a town hall meeting w/the AFL/CIO and it was really a good speech about how we need "collective bargaining" etc.
Now - Japan. They are still trying to connect the power lines at the reactors which is very disappointing as I guess everyone thought they would have been re-connected yesterday. It is now official - California has some radiation - very minute - nothing to "write home about" and they are telling everyone not to go out to buy iodine potassium, not to buy gas masks, not to buy geiger counters, etc. Hopefully no one here is panicking. We're not! I have a friend that e-mailed (from out of town) to not go out this weekend. What then? Our windows are open - and what happens after the weekend. If God forbid it was very bad, I don't know what we would do. We do have a ceiling fan in the bedroom but we are not really sealed in here even w/the windows closed. I will not worry about it. BTW, I have been misspelling the name of the plant - it is Fukushima and they are both Fukushima - the one that is in trouble is Daichi.
Now - Libya! I watch and watch and I am very confused. lst of all - Obama said today that there will be no U.S. military on the ground of Libya. Yay! But, that is today. Who knows what will happen tomorrow. In the meantime, there is a pro-democracy uprising in Yemen! But that's another story.
Back to Libya - there is a No Fly Zone order out from the U.N.
What that means exactly is - I DO NOT KNOW! I know that if we put out a no fly zone, that means we are technically at war because then we have to send planes to bomb Libya. Now, Cong. Kucinich (D-OH) says that "war from the air is still war".
Which means we and other countries are sending planes to bomb, but what I can't understand is we are trying to protect the civilians and have warned Ghadaffi that he cannot harm the civilians and so how can the planes bomb and be sure they are not harming civilians? Beats me! Libyan official says that
"rebels have committed crimes against humanity". I can believe that - very easily! But Ghadaffi has been doing that for years and years! He's always been bad! Also heard that Libyan military has violated U.N. resolution. Now that's not surprising, is it? Per Sec'y Gates, "it's not a question of what we or our allies can do - the question is should we do it". We could get sucked (their word, not mine!) into something and we don't know who to support - evidently there are more than one rebel group. Who knows! Whatever - it is not good out there and maybe I will know more over the weekend. It really is confusing!
And, whatever happens, WE DO NOT NEED ANOTHER WAR!
BTW, did I put in yesterday that Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) he is the senate minority leader (and hopefully the Republicans will always be the minority in the senate) he says if we don't cut social security, they are closing the government!
Well, I don't believe they will as the last time it was done was during the Clinton Adm. ((I believe) and it was done by Gingrich and it didn't help him one bit!
Again, BTW, my own opinion, I don't believe for one minute Newt thinks he can get nominated let alone elected. He goes on speaking tours that he charges big $$$ for (probably not as much as Palin) but when he is running for prez he can charge more $$$$ and also, when the donations come in, he can eat better, also! He and his wife (whicheve this one is). I know - it's his 3rd wife, her name is Calista (like Harrison Ford's wife, Calista Flockhart) and who cares about Newt, anyhow!

First - the power is back on the reactors in Fukishima. Don't know if the water is running yet but that is good news. Reactors 3 & 4 are most at risk. They say it hasn't gotten worse and it still could get worse. But right now they're stable.
The difference w/ the U.S. & Japan:
Japanese tell their people to go at least 19 miles away from the power plants.
U.S. tell their people to go at least 50 miles away.
Japanese say there is no reason to leave Tokyo.
U.S. telling the Americans to getoutathere!
The other day one of the our journalists was outside of the American Embassy in Tokyo and spoke to a man who has lived there for about 20 years and he was w/his wife, small child and infant twins about 3 mos. old. They were there getting passports for the twins. He said they don't know what to do. If they don't leave today maybe tomorrow they will be sorry they didn't leave. This is their home and it isn't easy and no one knows what to do.
The Japanese people feel that their government isn't telling them everything and I believe that. The Emperor spoke on TV and that really scared them the most. He evidently rarely speaks to the public. Now, the weather is really bad, snowing and very, very cold. They need blankets, propane, shelters, etc. When they say to get out - or stay 20 or so miles away - where do they go? It's not like there are hotels for so many or even if there are hotels or what is open or what is not open. The streets of Tokyo right now are empty, deserted. When they show these people is the the most sad thing to see. Yet Limbaugh laughs and makes fun of them and Beck says that it's God doing it to them as if they did something wrong. Pat Robertson said that for Katrina, as I said yesterday, but Jerry Falwell said that after 9/11! What is with these people. Beck said that Chernobyl wasn't so bad, only about 30 people died!
Well, I believe it was 56 that died, but 4,000 died from radiation exposure afterwards.
I said Potassium Iodine but I saw it written as Iodide - so I really don't know which is correct but I heard in NYC they were running to get it. Obama gave a speech today and said not to take anything, we are not at risk and I have to believe that. I'm more worried (for the lst time) about the 2 plants that are not that far from where I am. Actually, they are really not that close but too close for my comfort. Obama said they were going to check out all the plants for safety. However, the Japanese Power Co. that checks all their plants in 2007 misinformed government about the extent of a radiation leak.
In 2002 they were accused of falsifying 29 safety repair records. So who knows if whoever checks out our plants will know what they are doing and I guess we just have to believe them. Let's not forget 3 Mile Island. Took 11 years to clean all the radiation rubble!
Well, let's go on to lighter news! MI Gov. Rick Snyder (did I say "lighter" news?) His new bill -
Governor can declare "financial emergency" for any town, city or whatever.
Governor can then appoint "Emergency Financial Managers".
His "Czars" can void or break union contracts, seize & sell assets, eliminate local services, remove elected officials.
He can be recalled in July and believe me, they will surely try!!! And he should be recalled. According to John Nichols of The Nation magazine, Snyder & Walker can both be recalled, there is enuf evidence of harm being done to the states by them. 5,000 now are protesting in Michigan. Oh yes, let's not forget he is cutting 1.2 billion from schools, local governments
AND cutting business taxes by 86%!!!!!!
Meanwhile in Wisconsin, they now have 50% of signatures needed to put recall on ballots.
Right now, the GOP senators from WI are in D.C. being applauded and wined and dined and given $$$$$ for being such heroes!!!!

Ok, well before I get into Japan I have to tell you about Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) What a bastard! Where did they find these guys? Well, Kasich once worked for Fox (need I say more?) He just put some more cuts into his budget for Ohio -
now get this - I will only say it once and then on to Japan:
He is cutting funds from childrens' hospitals!!!!!!!

It is very bad in Japan. U.S. giving harder assessment than the Japanese government. Lester Holt - journalist for NBC had radiation on his shoes. The journalist he is working w/was just on tv and said they just got back to Tokyo from the north (that's where it all happened - north of Tokyo) and it is snowing quite a bit and they stepped in the snow and the radiation lays in the snow and that's how they got it on their shoes and on their tripods. Ok, enuf of that.
Gen. McCaffrey US Army (ret) said that the radiation is EXTREMELY high. I do not believe the Japanese government is saying that. Now, 20 million people live in Tokyo and we have 50,000 U.S. military w/families in Japan but I don't think they are all in Tokyo or maybe they are. France & Australia have told their subjects to either leave Japan or go at least 50 miles south of Toky. Can you imagine? Tokyo! It is unbelievable. The cancer this causes is usually thyroid and Iodine Potassium is used in cases of thyroid cancer and the shelves in the drug stores are empty because there has been a run on Iodine Potassium. E-Bay and Amazon have run out of Geiger counters because people are going crazy. I said 20 mil. people in Tokyo and yesterday I heard them say 35 mil. in Tokyo. Whatever it is, that's a lot of people! Now, they had 50 volunteers working on the reactors and they are getting sick. If no one is there there is no way to stop what is happening. However, they are working on the power lines and hoping they can get the power back on which will start the pumps getting water into the reactors. They tried yesterday using helicopters to dump water on them but it didn't work as the radiation level was so high they couldn't get close enuf. Our military have pulled the ships 50 miles out. BTW, the U.S. Navy & the Marines are the worlds biggest experts in nuclear reactors. I didn't know that. But then, why should I? However, and this is a quote, the U.S. Navy is "anal retentive" when it comes to their men and they are not going to let them get contaminated. Hopefully, they won't! A scientist was on MSNBC (actually a few have been on)They are actually experts in the radiation power plant field - and he said "If I were in Tokyo I would be extremely worried!"
Now, our government wants to build more plants. Of course, the Republicans want more plants. Sen. Inhofe (R-OK) said
"why is everyone so worried? This is something that happens every 300 yrs!" Well, it's happened 3 times in 32 yrs! I don't remember if I ever told you about Inhofe or "C" St in D.C. If I didn't I will one of these days. Very interesting. If I did talk about "C" st. maybe someone could leave me a comment or 2 to let me know.
We have 2 plants that are leaking as we speak. Did you know about it? I didn't. I don't think they advertise these things. One is Oyster Creek in NY and the other is Vermont Yankee which I have to believe is in Vermont. They are very, very, very old! And rickety! They want to run them at 120% of capacity (don't know what that means but I don't think I like it)for 20 yrs more. Now, the 2 in CA that are built on the fault, San Onofre & Diablo Canyon are also very, very, old. Where is this money coming from? I believe it was the Weeper of the House that said "it will come from tax payer's money". I guess it will have to because Wall St won't pay for it - Wall St. doesn't like power plants - they aren't good investments! When I turned the computer on this a.m. the front page shows some bits of news and it said U.S. doesn't have to worry about radiation from Japan - either at this time or right now, I forget, but it sounded that maybe at some time we will have to.
To sum it all up - it is very, very bad. Even though Limbaugh is cracking jokes and laughing at the Japanese - it is very bad. It is sad and terrifying and just plain awful! And it is hard to believe that it is happening.

having problems w/3 of them. Now, if the core melts - whatever the core is - there is lava that eats away at the bottom and that is the radiation that goes into the environment. The Republicans feel we don't have enuf nuclear plants here (why am I not surprised) and Pres. Obama agrees w/them (why am I not surprised, again!)
BTW, there are 50 volunteers working on these reactors in Japan and most likely they will die. That is really something, to volunteer for something like that.
Also,BTW, Gov. Barbour (R-MS) his aide or asst. or whoever, tweeted or published some kind of joke re this Japan tragedy
has either quit or was fired. That is a terrible thing to do.
But, evidently it is ok for Beck to say things like God is doing it and implying that the Japanese did something to make God mad and punishing the Japanese. However, if I am not mistaken (and I usually am!) Pat Robertson did the same thing during Katrina, saying that the way the people there lived so loosely, God was punishing them. Well, if it is ok for Pat Robertson, than it is good enuf for Beck!!!!!

Well, here I am! I know - I know - it's been a couple of days but I am so hung up w/Twitter that it's taking over my life! I really love it and I am learning so much from reading what is happening. Lot of intelligent people on there (not me!)
Anyhow, been watching a lot of Japan lately as I am sure everyone is. Really, really, bad! 2nd after Chernobyl. I have a million notes and will try to make some sense out of them. Entire cities have been flattened. They show a film of the Tsunami coming and rushing over the harbor and onto the houses and a ship falling and houses demolished! Unreal! The tsunami did more damage than the earthquake which is officially a 9.0 now. By the way, the Republicans put in YESTERDAY in their budget cutting all sorts of things that would help us know in advance if something bad was coming but so be it! (that's a quote from Boehnerr re. no jobs and privatizing social security and vouchers for Medicare!) This one town which was the size of Boulder, CO. was demolished in less than 7 min. Yesterday there was a problem w/the 2nd reactor. They tried to cool it off w/sea water but it didn't work and rods were exposed. Evidently when rods are exposed that means that radiation is leaking. 17 of our military personal were exposed to radiation and they went back to the ship and were hosed off and then what, I do not know. However, someone from Columbia Medical was on Rachel Maddow the other day and he said that most of the people that were exposed to radiation would be fine if given good medical treatment. That was really good to know. And, in Japan, I have to believe they can have excellent medical treatment. Then they said that 2 reactors have exploded and they were trying to cool the 3rd. Now, I know I sound very confused and I really am. Should have watched Glen Beck on Fox - he showed what was happening usuing M&M's. OMG!!!! I tweeted that he called in sick today as he od'd on M&M's.
Anyway, the latest I heard yesterday was that they had problems w/the 4th reactor at the Fukushima Plant. Meanwhile, they are running out of food & water and medical supplies. Evidently, even in Tokyo. There were thousands still missing and I believe it will be a long time before they know the death toll. It also got very, very cold in the earthquake area so they need blankets and warm clothes as I do not think there is any power.
BTW, there are 104 nuclear plants in California. More here than in any other state. 2 of them are by the water on the San Andreas fault (just like in Japan). Which really confuses me. Why would they be built there? So much I don't know. I read today that Germany closed about 7 or 8 nuclear plants. I know we need them, but do we need 104 in Calif.? Maybe because there are more people here than any other state? I DO NOT KNOW!
Anyhow, back to Wisconsin. It really isn't over as far as I am concerned. They had over 100,000 there Saturday. It was quite a sight to see! Walker went up north to a town of 3,000 people and over 3,000 came to demonstrate against him! I love it!!!!! This bill, I believe, will be in the courts for a while and hopefully, just hopefully, they will get the signatures they need and be able to recall the senators and get some Democrats voted in. Meanwhile, the Wisconsin 14 came home as heroes, it was really wonderful. However, they were not allowed to vote on anything - as a punishment! But I read something in Twitter today that said the punishment was over, so maybe they can now vote, not that it makes any difference as they are still the minority. It's really bad but have you ever heard of anything like this? People are really fighting for their rights! And not only in Wisconsin. Now the new governor in MI, Snyder, he is a piece of work. He is worse than Walker if at all possible! They are demonstrating there also but I don't think any of them have done what they have done in Wisconsin. So many Republicans who are having buyer's remorse and maybe I have said this before, I can't remember - if it wasn't so bad I would say - good for them! That'll teach ya! But I can't say that. Now, Florida, the new Republican Governor - I call him Digger O'Dell (I believe that is from an old, old, radio show - he was an undertaker, I think) Gov. Rick Scott, tall, skinny, bald, looks like a cadaver! He gave a tremendous and I mean tremendous - cut to education and then cuts in taxes to the upper 2% (or maybe l%). What is with these guys!
Now, re. Social Security, Medicare & Medicaid - the House Republicans have voted - they want to privatize Social Security and put Medicare on Vouchers - got all the Rep votes except 1. Boehner has repeatedly refused to take SS privatization off the table and have described the GOP's alternative budget proposal which is what I said above.
I also read today that Pres. Obama is torn - 1/2 his people say to cut S.S. & Axelrod and Pouffle (who are working on his re-election campaign) say that it will hurt him in 2012. I sent him an e-mail today saying that as a lifelong Democrat, if he cuts SS, I will not vote for him in 2012.

Well, something I forgot about before. I just saw on TV that Hawaii has millions of dollars worth of damage from the tsunami and also there was at least 1 man killed in way upstate California - right under Oregon border. I forget the name of the town but evidently on the water, they were trying to get a better look at the waves and one of them at least was swept out to sea. Now, the new GOP budget recommends cutting funds for tsunami relief! Now, what does that tell you?
They showed a woman on her computer, I think in California, and she was worried about a friend of hers in Japan and she went onto Facebook and there was a note from him - Everybody I am fine, but batteries running low so you may not hear from me for a while but I'm ok. How about that? If this happened years ago there would be no way to get in touch w/anyone but phone and usually phones are down. People to help Japan are coming from all over the world. Search dogs from CA and AL - a ship of supplies and food from USA and a ship from England w/heavy equipment. It is amazing and wonderful that people are helping like this. I wanted to see what was happening in WI but will have to wait until I go on Twitter.

Well, the tragic earthquake & tsunami in Japan all but knocked Wisconsin off the news - but not quite! Did knock Charlie Sheen off (bet he breathed a sign of relief! I know I did!)Watching the films of Japan was unbelievable! Can't even put it into words! Just tragic! But the worst part is the nuclear plants. 5 reactors have radiation leaks. That is 2 at one plant and 3 at another. Now, the Japanese are really exceptionally good at anything they do. They built these containers to contain! Now, the ones in Chernobyl were not built like these and did not contain (or retain, this is all new to me) and hopefully it will not be like it was there. They were saying that the Japanese aren't telling us too much and we wouldn't know anything for sure until this a.m. so I really don't know what they found out. All I know is that 45,000 people had to evacuate their homes and a 6 mile radius had to be cleared. From what I saw, there will be people missing for quite some time and it will be billions of $$ to clean up and rebuild. It was horrendous! And something I had been thinking and worrying about - a question that was asked by Rachel Maddow to this scientist - can this radiation blow as far as the U.S.? And I believe it can. It's something to think about. Horrible! Horrible! Very hard to watch. Normally, you would never see films of things like this but w/c.c. cameras everywhere - everything you do or what happens is on film nowadays! Imagine anything happening in London, they have more cameras than people!
Ok, back to Wisconsin. The Wisconsin 14 are back home. It is not over! There is so much happening and it is wonderful that the people aren't just sitting back and saying, well, that's that, it's over. It is not over til it's over!!!!! This bill should be in the courts for quite some time as most likely they did something illegal. Now, Sen. Fitzgerald (what an ass!) That is Scott, he has a brother Jeff who is also a WI-R Sen. and a father that is something w/the highway patrol, I believe. Or Sheriff's office. And who cares!!!! Well, Fitzgerald spoke on Fox (of course!) and said that it was never about the $$$ (no kidding, I didn't know that! Duh!) This way the unions won't have the $$$ and won't be able to donate to Obama and Obama won't get Wisconsin in 2012. Now, he stood up there and said this. Well, when Sen. Glen Grothman (another ass!) was interviewed and asked about this he said - well, he hemmed and hawed (what is hemming & hawing?) and said well, that, too, but it was always about the money. And Lawrence O'D said the unions had already ok'd the $$$ and Grothman said the people that were protesting were yelling about $$$. Which is true! That is what they were protesting. But that was not the question. One thing I have learned from all this political watching, NO ONE EVER ANSWERS THE QUESTIONS THEY HAVE BEEN ASKED! Dems do the same thing. If you say to me "How are you" and then I say "I went to the store today" - now, that is not answering your question. That's what they do. And Lawrence usually gives it to them but good but Grothman spoke so long they ran out of time. Well, today big doings in Madison and probably all over the state. There is a tractor parade in Madison, I am taping the news and hope they show the tractors. I don't think anything has ever happened in this country to equal what is happening in Wisconsin and how wonderful these people have been. Nothing has stopped them, they are not giving up. A funny story - one of the Rep. Senators and for the life of me I can't remember his name but I will check on it for a later date - his wife signed one of the petitions to recall him!!!! I thought that was so funny! Turns out he is living in Madison w/his 25 yr old mistress! Anyway, recalls don't take as long as you would think. If they can get 3 Rep. Senators recalled and then, hopefully, elect 3 Dem Senators to take their place, they can then re-do that bill. It sounds funny, I know, but it is possible. 3 Dem. Sens will give the Democrats the majority and if that bill is held up in court as I am sure it will be and I am also sure that they did something wrong. There is to be 24 hr notice prior to voting on any bill and they gave them 2 hrs notice. They are such crooks!!!!
Meanwhile, there is a big demonstration going on in Lansing, MI today, also. Michael Moore who campaigned so much the past couple of weeks for WI, lives in MI and their governor is like a reincarnation of Hitler and what he is proposing is like a horror story so they are doing there what they did in WI. Also, something must be happening in Indiana and Ohio. Now, Florida has a really creep Governor. I call him Digger O'Dell (think he was a mortician or something a 100 yrs ago from the movies, probably the silent movies! No, only kidding, but he was something funny) He is very creepy looking and creepy acting. He is cutting tons of $$$ from education and giving big tax breaks to the rich. Sound familier? Does anyone have any idea of what cutting from education will do to these kids? Larger classrooms for one thing. And much, much, more. Or rather, much, much less!
I cannot wait for the recalls! Should be exciting! Too bad they have to wait 12 mos. for recalls for these governors. How the hell did so many Republican governors get elected? I hope the people have very long memories when election time comes.
Speaking of which, there is some election this April or May in WI, something to do with electing someone who has something to do w/the Governor and they are hoping it will be a Democrat elected. I will have to look into it further.

Just a short addition to today's comments. I have just been on Twitter and they are "tweeting" like crazy re Wisconsin. So much is going on in that state. Demonstrations all over and especially, of course, in Madison. Firefighters just took a ton of money out of M&I Bank to donate. Now I see that M&I Bank has closed their door as people are lining up to close their accts as M&I give big to the Republicans. How about that? Kids are taking off school, strikes are being talked about and from what I hear, IT IS NOT OVER YET!!!!!!

Well, things don't look too good right now as I am sure you already heard. Strange tho, as the nite before I had heard that Rep Sensenbrenner (R) & a woman Senator (R) whose name I can't think of and who cares, held a Town Hall meeting and had to stop it after 30 min. as the people were really upset and they couldn't handle that. Now, Sensenbrenner didn't think it was bad when they were doing the Town Hall meetings during the time when Pres. Obama was trying to get the Health Plan gooing and the meetings were really bad. In fact, quite a few of those meetings had rabble-rousers who were bussed in by our old friends - the Koch Brothers! That was ok, then. Anyhow, some of the Republicans were starting to get a little nervous because 8 of them have petitions going to get them recalled and also because some of them are in big union areas and their constituents are very upset. No kidding! Just because they are going to lose their collective bargaining, lose money, etc. etc. why should they be upset. Anyhow, about 3 or 4 were waivering and the Dems thought maybe, just maybe, they could get a couple on their side. They already had Dale Schultz (he was the 1 vote against yesterday when they took their sneaky vote). And it really was looking good as Walker (the rat!) had announced that he was willing to negotiate! Well, he lied! Dem. Sen. Larson heard about this and started driving back to WI at 80 mph and he was too late.So , he turned around and went back to Illinois and they are not coming back as of now. They do not trust Walker - surprise! surprise! Now, I didn't know what happened and I went on Twitter (I love Twitter, it is just great!) and they were all "tweeting" about this and I turned on the tv and sure enough, breaking news on the regular MSNBC programs I watch. It was sickening.
BUT it may not be over. It could have been illegal, they say it was legal, they split the bill and put the collecting bargaining separate and who knows, it is all confusing to me. The Dems are meeting w/lawyers this a.m. and I don't know what is happening now. Now Sen. Mike Ellis (R) is in a big union district and they were sure he would change his mind but who knows what pressure was put on him and the others by Walker. Couple of minutes ago I saw on Twitter that the Reps were entering the state house thru a utility tunnel as the crowds are tremendous. However, there aren't enuf GOPs there to begin a session. I hope and pray that these recalls will go thru. They have the signatures they need for some of them and I heard yesterdaya that hundreds of people were out getting signatures. These people are not going to just sit down and take it. Last nite I heard a man who is head of the Teachers Association in Milw. He has been a teacher for 34 yrs and he said that cutting $$$ from education will be the worst thing they can do to these kids. And I can believe that. There is so much buyer's remorse in WI right now. And if I didn't care so much, I could say - good for you! That will teach you to vote Republican! I had a friend out here, someone I worked with, she made an average salary, no big deal salary, and she was self supporting, had 5 cats and 2 dogs that were always needing medical help which is very expensive and she was always broke. She was an avid Republican. I could never understand why. We NEVER argued politics - ever - she knew I was a Democrat and I knew she was a Republican and we did talk politics but never argued. But I couldn't understand why she was a Republican and I am sure she couldn't understand why I was a Democrat. Well, these people in WI, there had to be some reason Walker got elected. He had a bad track record in Milwaukee but maybe that never got out until now. Maybe the former Governor was not good, or MAYBE Walker got SO MUCH MONEY FROM KOCH! I do know that the Koch Bros. gave over 3 mil. for ads against Walker's opponent and that does work, I guess.
But, as I said, maybe it is not all over. Now they are still talking about Walker going to run for Prez either in 2012 or 2016. WHAT????? That is his goal. This is just a stepping stone for him and evidently he can't care that much for Wisconsin! I just think this would hurt him but evidently the Republicans think it is great, he is a hero, he is a winner, he has been getting congratulations from all over. They went to the Inn on the Park for celebrating last nite. Some protesters were going to go there but I don't know what happened. Michael Moore was on Rachel Maddow's last nite and boy, was he ever upset. He feels the kids should have a walk-out from school but I don't know what is happening w/that. As I said earlier, the Wisconsin l4 are not coming back yet as they do not trust Walker. He could pull a fast one on them and re-take the vote or whatever, when they come back. I will have to pay attention today to whatever has happened.
I am reading a book, fiction, called Streets of Warsaw. Takes place, of course, in Warsaw, around 1942-43 when the Germans occupied Poland. All kinds of things are happening - it was very bad. I'm telling you this for a reason, of course.
The other nite I heard about Gov. Snyder (MI-R) OMG!!!! What he is planning sounded just like something I had just read in my book that the Nazi's were planning in Warsaw!!!!

As I said, I care about Wisconsin. But part of this is also caring what is happening in the other states, I believe total of 16! And, this all ties in to what is going to happen in 2012. If the union goes, it is bye-bye to the Democratic Party! That's what they say. Seems extreme, doesn't it? But that's where the $$$ comes from. I worry about social security and medicare. I have written e-mails to Obama, Boxer & Feinstein, but probably to no avail. However, if enuf people write maybe something can happen. Why Obama put Alan Simpson, retired Sen or Cong. Republican from Wyoming, no less, on this budget committee, I'll never know. He is an old man and evidently hates old people. Wants to get rid of Social Security and Medicare and that's all he knows. I am really upset w/Obama now. That's rare for me. Now, we see the gas prices going up, up, up and soon food is going to go up also. I know it is going up but further up! Wheat prices will soar! This, believe it or not, is coming from Wall St. How about that? It is something to do w/speculation and don't ask me to explain it - it is very confusing to me but it is the truth!!!! Now, Obama has not mentioned the gas prices at all. Oil is over $100 a barrel which is setting this off. He has not mentioned it for a reason. I heard that he is afraid to mention it because there are big Dem donors on Wall St. It all goes back to the $$$$$!
Well, I am getting tired - it is ll a.m. and I haven't had breakfast yet and I am starving!

Well, as of last night the Wisconsin 14 were still "at large". I would imagine the only thing that can save this whole situation is if 3 Republican Senators "defected". Now, they know for sure that Sen. Dale Schultz will come to their side. Now, Sen. Michael Ellis, who constituency is in a big Steel Union district, he may also come over to their side. Then, they need 1 more. But they feel if the other see that 2 are voting against Walker, then others will follow. Wisconsin is a big union state and I would imagine these Republican Senators are in sympathy w/the union. Now, there is one that will not come over - Sen. Alberta Darling. 25% of her constituents have already signed to recall her. There are about 7 or 8 more that the people are trying to recall and that may make them think differently. I saw some of the WI 14 on TV yesterday again, and they are really something. This is history being made, no doubt about it.
Now here is something new. It was news to me! There is a new group - The Indiana 37! Who, at this time, (at least last nite) were at an "unknown location somewhere in Illinois". Sounds familiar??? Illinois is surrounded by these Republican Governors! Fortunately, Illinois has Gov. Quinn - a Democrat, who - it was such a close vote they didn't know for a while after Election Day who won, but he did! These 37 are House Representatives and if 6 "defect" it will all be over but they say they are a very tight group. In WI, it will take only 1 but hopefully no one will defect.
Well, I wanted to get this in - it is early in the a.m. here and I have a busy day. We will see what transpires in the political world later today.
