Well, things are basically the same in Wisconsin as far as I know. They expect more people this weekend. The guv told the police to get everyone out of the state house after 4 p.m. and the police evidently refused and are backing these protesters. People all over the world are backing these protesters! Yesterday they had a vote in the State House of Reps and evidently it was after 61 hrs of debating, it was l a.m. and it is very unclear to me how this happened but the Dems didn't know they were voting and the Reps voted w/o them. It was really strange - the Dems were all standing and pointing to the Reps who were leaving and yelling "Shame" - it was very emotional. But I believe it is a bill that the Senate has to vote on also, it was re the union, of course, and this is a stupid report as I don't know exactly what happened but just know that this is what the Republicans are doing. It is like a war. It is a war! Walker keeps talking about outsiders coming in protesting. Somehow the fact that the "tea baggers" were there, about 2,000 of them, protesting (orderly and no violence, thank God) against the WI protesters, doesn't count as outsiders being there altho most of them were from out of the state. They have been interviewing most of the Wisconsin l4 from wherever they are staying (Somewhere in Chicago) and they are sticking together, hopefully, because all they need is one of them to cave and it is all over. Ed of The Ed Show, really gave it to Obama on Thursday. The fact that he is not backing them and showing a clip from when he was campaigning for Prez and saying if there is a strike he will "put on a pair of comfortable shoes and march w/them". Ed was really angry w/Obama and I think I sort of agree w/him. I don't really know if it is right but when you think of it, it was the unions that helped him w/400 million dollars! 2 websites were started for Walker, one was started by Tim Pawlenty and I don't know who started the other and it is to collect $$$$ for what, I don't know. I guess for the Rep party. This has got to end sometime.
On Fox News, Hannity and O'Reilly and on his radio show, Limbaugh, have been bashing the union. Well, how about this -
they are all 3 in a union AFL-CIO! I guess that doesn't count.
Hopefully, something will give this weekend. Walker is pretty set in his ways and doesn't look like he will cave in. However, he is all alone now. His Rep. Gov cronies have all given in re. the collected bargaining rights and it is only him now. Believe me, I feel very strongly that this whole thing has hurt him and that his run for the White House just flew out the window! Let's hope!
